Aug 20 — It’s HOT!

Bikes and Baseball!

It’s gonna be hot! But join us today, as we head to a Redbirds game! The first pitch is at 2:05, so we’re meeting early. Join us at noon, in front of Revolutions, and we’ll ride down together. We plan to sit on the Bluff, so we’ll just buy our tickets when we get there.

Have a small child, who likes to ride? Bring them in a bike trailer or let us show you our Family Cargo Bikes! Big kids are welcome to ride their own bikes, if they can ride all the way downtown and back!

We take a pretty easy pace, where folks can talk to each other while we ride. This ride will be about 6 miles, or about 65 minutes of riding, EACH WAY. Please remember that you ride at your own risk.

For more information, go here.

Take a class with us!

img_6875

All of these classes are great for folks who are new to Revolutions! We’ll demystify the parts of your bicycle and the tools used to fix it up. And on the street, we’ll help you figure out what to do when the bike lane ends! Basic Bike Assessment is free with your membership. And our brand new Tune up class is just $40, for members! We also have How to Ride in the Street, to get you out riding safely and confidently. We would love for you to join us for any, or all!, of these!

Aug 6: Back to Class

Shelby County Schools are headed back to class, tomorrow. We hope the students and the teachers had a great summer! And for those of you not headed back to class, we still have plenty of summer activities, like Beers and Gears (we’re doing High Cotton and a Dive Bar, this week), Bike to Dinner and a ride to the Redbirds.

And if you do want to get to class, we’ve got those, too!

Beers and Gears, This Friday!

Last month, Earnestine and Hazel’s let us park the bikes inside. This month, we’re headed to High Cotton and a to-be-determined Dive Bar. There are so many great choices so, we’re going to let the group decide.

Meet us at Revolutions, on Friday, Aug 11 at 7:00 p.m. If you need to rent a bike, come at 6:45. Plan to ride about 50 minutes each way, at a pace slow enough to chat. We hope you’ll join us for this fun and tasty ride!

Rides meet at Revolutions, on the Cooper-side of First Congo, in front of our gate with bike art above it. More info and weather updates, here.

the Memphis Fire Department Station 11 on Union was robbed.  The Central Gardens Neighborhood Association is hosting this picnic to show respect for the firefighters and to raise funds for grocery gift cards for their stations.
  • You can help by bringing your families to meet the firefighters and see their trucks up close.  Bring a picnic or buy from Kabob food truck. (Kabob is graciously donating meals to the firemen who attend.) Or, make a donation here.
