6/4: It’s Time for Summer Riding!

We have so many great rides coming up this summer. I hope you will find one, or many, that sounds like you!

Bike to Dinner: Summer Night Rides Return!

Join us, this Wednesday, June 7 at 6:30, to kick off our 3rd year of Summer night rides! We’re headed Downtown to Central Barbecue for another delicious meal. We love summer Bike to Dinner rides because even if it’s hot and sweaty on the way out, the sun goes down and the ride home is pleasant and cool. This year’s schedule looks like this:

Father’s Day Ride with Dad!

Calling all Dads! We want to take you for a bicycle ride in honor of Father’s Day. Join us Sunday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. Bring your dad, bring a friend’s Dad. And Dads, bring the kids. We’ll have photographer Brandon Dill riding with us (who’s also a dad who rides with his kids!) to capture photos of Dads and kids on bicycles.

After we get some pics, we’ll ride to Memphis Made. Since it’s so close, we’ll take the long way there (you know, like Dad and his short cuts?!).

We’re looking for all sorts of bike-y dads to ride with us:

  • Dad’s with Cargo bikes
    • Come show them off!
  • Dad’s who want to Ride a Revolutions Cargo bike
    • Rent one for the ride for just $10 bucks!
    • We have 7 to choose from!
  • Dad’s with kids on your bike
    • Bike seats, bike trailers, trail-a-bikes!
  • Dad’s whose kids ride their own bikes
    • No training wheels, balance bikes or tricycles, please

June’s Members’ Class

This month, we’re back to our Basic Bike Assessment class. This is a great one if you are new to the workshop. You will learn the parts of your bicycle, and talk about what parts should (or shouldn’t!) be moving. Read more and sign up, here.

Move by Bike

And finally, here’s one event that’s not happening until July 1st. But I really want you to save the date! Haven’t you always thought your bicycle could do more than just carry you around town? Well now’s your bike’s time to show off! We have a Revolutionsmoving-boxes-bike Member who is moving house, and she wants to Move by Bike! Sure, sure. This may sound like something they would only do in Portland. But watch this video. It’s not even all specialty bikes. It’s just people strapping things on to back racks and handlebars, plus trailers and some cargo bikes.  Our friend is moving a mere 0.7 miles down the street. Won’t you join us for the fun?!

So mark your calendars, follow the excitement here and on Facebook and help us with the 1st Ever Revolutions Move by Bike!!!

Our friend promises she doesn’t have anything to move that looks like this:
