Dec 11: It’s Cold!

Did you Bike to Lunch?

We had a great time, yesterday, on a cold sunny morning ride. First we stopped by Elmwood Cemetery for a brief walking tour with McCrosky Volunteer Photographer in Residence for 2016 Matt Matthews. You can see some of Matt’s photos here and read a theological-artistic reflection on his year at Elmwood here.

After our tour, we headed to the Four Way Soul Food Restaurant. If you haven’t been here, you should go! Their food is delicious and they had a gate in the back that was very easy to lock up to. And, for all you vegetarian’s, they don’t put any meat in their vegetable dishes! Thanks Patrice and your great staff for a great meal.

3rd Time’s the Charm?

We plan to attempt our Starry Nights ride, again, tomorrow. But there is a chance of rain. So, keep an out here for updates. And keep your fingers crossed, because I really want to see the lights by bicycle!

Basic Bike Assessment

Our Basic Bike Assessment class is coming up, next Monday, Dec 19 at 6:30. This is a great class for new members. You will have the chance to look over your whole bike and make a list of what you could work on, during our Open Shop hours. Join us for an orientation to the workshop and a chance to check out your bicycle. Read more and sign up here.

2 More Rides Coming Up

Beers and Gears: Memphis Made

This month’s Beers and Gears is headed to Memphis Made Brewing Company. There’s usually a food truck, and kids are welcome. Check here for weather updates.

Memphis Made is in our neighborhood. So, we’ll take a 35 minute, or so, neighborhood ride, on the way. We take a pace slow enough to chat. We hope you’ll join us for this fun and tasty ride!

PLEASE NOTE: Because the Shop is not open on Friday, we will NOT be renting bicycles for this ride.

Women’s Bike Chat 3rd Annual Hot Chocolate Ride

Won’t you join us for this fun ride?! Instead of chatting at the Shop, for this month’s Women’s Bike Chat, we’ll chat while we ride. We like to find a place to have hot chocolate…or other tasty beverages!

This ride is women-only. Guys, we’ll catch you on the next one.

The weather forecast does not look great. So, watch here for updates. If it’s just cold, we’ll bundle up and ride. If it’s rainy and nasty, though, we will cancel.

We require helmets on all Revolutions sponsored rides. We take a pretty easy pace. Please remember that you ride at your own risk.

Don’t let not having a bike keep you from riding with us. We have bikes for sale, in our Shop. And we also rent adult bikes $5 plus tax, on the day of a group ride.
