Neighborhood Night Ride

Summer is gone and it’s getting spooky out. Join us for this after-dark tour of the neighborhood. We’ll check out the Halloween decorations and just generally wheel around.

Have a small child, who likes to stay up late? Bring them in a bike trailer or let us show you our Family Cargo Bikes! Big kids are welcome to ride their own bikes.

Rides meet at Revolutions, on the Cooper-side of First Congo, in front of our gate with bike art above it. Meet up on Friday, Oct 14th at 8:30 p.m. If you are renting bicycles, please come at 8:15 p.m.

All rides are weather dependent (we will postpone, if it looks like rain). And we require helmets on all Revolutions sponsored rides. Be sure to bring lights!

We take a pretty easy pace. This ride will be about 4 miles, or about 35-40 minutes of riding. Please remember that you ride at your own risk.

Don’t let not having a bike keep you from riding with us. We have bikes for sale, in our Shop. And we also rent adult bikes for $5, and family cargo bikes for $10 plus tax, on the day of a group ride. If you’d like to know more about what bicycles we have available, send us a message!

eBike Exploratory Team

Last Sunday, we hosted a Show ‘n Tell of some electric assist bicycles. The folks who came out for this event decided that would like to learn more. So, we created the eBikes Exploratory Team!

This group is going to research and tinker with electric assist on bicycles. They will explore how best to configure the electrical system, what are the best components to use and how can eAssist make riding a bicycle easier. This group will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:00.

If you would like to participate, the only requirement is that your Revolutions membership is current. You can join/re-join Revolutions, when you come into the Shop. The group will report on what they’ve learned for the first 15 minutes or so. Then they will make a work plan for the evening and jump in!

Classes Coming Up:

Basic Bike Assessment

Are you new to Revolutions and wondering how to get involved at the workshop? Basic Bike Assessment is a great introduction. Bring your own bike or use one of ours. This class will introduce the systems on the bicycle and help you determine any projects you might like to start working on. Read more and sign up here.

How to Ride in the Street

We have time, before the end of the year, to have one more session of this class! Join us to gain confidence and understanding of how to ride safely in the street. Maybe you want to grab a coffee with your friend, show up at book club by bicycle or even try riding to work? This class will practice how to make these types of trips! You will also have the chance to talk about route planning and bicycle accessories that make transportation riding easier. Join us for this fun, four session class starting Sunday, Oct 30. Read more and register here.

Did you Bike to Brunch?!

IMG_5480.JPG

Yesterday, we rode to Bryant’s. A few of us were clever after
seeing the long line, and headed next door to the Latino market. Everyone got a delicious meal, in the end. Join us for the next Bike to Brunch on Saturday, Nov 5!!
