Ride with Dad + Bike to Dinner!

This week has two group bicycle rides. Join us today, at 2:00 p.m. for a Ride with Dad. Sure, it will probably be hot and super sweaty. But there’s cold beer at the end. And don’t you want to do something nice for Dad? We have Cargo Bikes ($10) and Trail-a-bikes ($5) that you can rent, if you want to carry some extra folks along! Please come at 1:45, if you are renting!!

And don’t forget this Wednesday’s Bike to Dinner. We’re headed to Rock ‘n Dough Pizza with owner Jeremy Denno. These rides are a fun way to get to dinner, as well as spend time with 50 of your closest friends. We ride slow enough to chat. And we have bikes to rent. Meet at 6:30, in front of Revolutions’ Bike Gate. If you are renting, please come 15 minutes early! Check out more details, here.

Summer Camp update

It was Middle School camp, last week. I found myself posting less to Facebook and feeling more exhausted! During the week, our group of 16 Campers, plus 6 adults and 2 small helpers made a lot of one way bike trips. In fact, we calculated that with our daily ride during camp, plus those of us riding to and from camp, and some of us riding in the afternoons, too, we took a total of about 495 trips by bike. I think that’s pretty amazing! And our daily camp rides took us a total of about 35 miles!

There is one more week of camp, and it’s High School week. Now is your last chance, if you know a high schooler who would like to know more about using his or her bicycle. Last minute signups, here!

How to Ride in the Street class, completed.

Last Sunday completed our first How to Ride in the Street class. Thanks to co-teachers Kendra Hotz and Dawn Vinson, as well as volunteers Emily Gum, Abbey Judd and Anna Talley. They offered wisdom and experience about how to become confident riding in the street. The effects of their great instruction showed as the group rode off for their last ride.

This mom even had the confidence to put her toddler on the back and try out one of our cargo bikes!

Way to go everyone!!

Did you see us in the Flyer?

Bike to Dinner made the cover of the Memphis Flyer, this week. And bicycling in Memphis is highlighted as better than ever! Check it out here.
