Volunteers for Bicycle Ambassadors
We had 15 volunteers come out for an orientation session with Shelby County Schools. Thanks to all of you! Be sure to continue the process by getting to your fingerprinting appointments!
Classes are Back!
Over the Fall and early Winter, we set aside our Members’ classes, in order to have more time for our Training Fleet overhauls. We still have more work to do. But we also want to allow time for our newer members to get into the Shop, too. Basic Bike Assessment is a great place to start. You will get a good overview of your bicycle and also an introduction to the Shop’s work area. Join us on Monday night at 6:30 for Basic Bike Assessment.
Fix a Flat:
On Thursday, February 25, we have a special guest teacher for our Fix a Flat class. Robert Taylor is the former owner and founder of Victory Bicycle Studio, with over 30-years experience in the bike industry. This class covers everything you need to know about tires and tubes. Learn why you get flats and the best ways to prevent them, in the future. No more getting stranded!
Women’s Bike Chat
Join us next Sunday, February, 21 for Women’s Bike Chat. This month we have some hands on work to do together. And a ride afterwards, of course. We meet at 2:00 p.m. at Revolutions. And you can rent a bike for our ride for $5, plus tax. So, bring your friends!
Heard about Zipcar?
This international company will be a new shared space partner at First Congo! Zipcar is a car-sharing alternative to owning a car that gives members 24/7 access to vehicles parked right on our property. Low hourly and daily rates include gas, insurance, and 180 miles per day to go wherever you want to go. Members can reserve cars online or with a smart phone for as little as an hour or up to seven days. This year, enjoy all the freedom of owning car without any of the hassle. Find out more about how it works go to www.zipcar.com.
