Chats, Chains and Change

Women’s Bike Chat — TODAY

Join us, this afternoon at 2:00, for a chat with Karen Thornton of the Mississippi River Corridor. Her organization works to identify, conserve and interpret the region’s natural, cultural and scenic resources to improve the quality of life and prosperity in West Tennessee along the six counties that front the River to include Shelby, Tipton, Lauderdale, Dyer, Lake and Obion counties.

Join us at 2:00 p.m. and bring your bike, for a short ride, afterwards!

Open Shop will be open, during Women’s Bike Chat. So, don’t stay away!

Fix a Flat Class — TOMORROWIMG_2519

Monday, Oct 19 will be our last membership class until after the new year. Fix a Flat covers everything you need to know about tires and tubes. Learn why you get flats and the best ways to prevent them, in the future. Never get stranded again!

This class is free and for Revolutions members, only. Not a member of Revolutions, yet? You can join when you sign up, here!

Transforming Transportation: What Can We Learn from the Dutch?

Please join us on Tuesday, Oct 20 at 7:00 p.m. to talk about what bicycling looks like in the Netherlands and whether there are any lessons that could be applied in Memphis. Several of us from the study tour I went on will be on hand to share experiences and project ideas.  Read more here and let us know that you’re coming!

Overhaul Nights

The Overhaul nights are going great, and we need your help. This week, we did more wheels and started on bottom brackets. We decided to change all drop handlebars to handlebars that will allow the rider to sit more upright. Whatever your experience, there is work that we can plug you in to! Join us Thursday night, 6:30 to 9:00, and we’ll get you started working on bikes.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

THANK YOU on speech bubble price labels

I want to send a big thank you to several Revolutions volunteers. I took a few days of my husband’s Fall Break, to go with him to New Orleans. Thanks to Dave Lindstrom, Diana Barzizza, Jay Fite, Ben Cornelius for running Sunday’s Open Shop. And more big thanks to Kendra Hotz, Dave Lindstrom, Ryan Carroll and Victor Pretti for keeping our Monday night overhauls going, in my absence. I appreciated the rest…and the chance to ride, and eat!!, NOLA!!
