Overhauls, Lots and Lots of Overhauls!

Training Fleet Overhauls, off to a great start!

IMG_2480

On Monday, six volunteers climbed through our pile of bikes. We identified nine that are the same! I actually thought there would be more that were identical to each other. Turns out, we have a wide variety of old bikes! Anyway, we thought working on  just one model, at a time, would give us an easy way to build our skills and deal with any problems. So far, so good. After choosing nine bikes, we each took one to assess. They all need tires and tubes, and some need brake and shifter help. But a couple were in practically mint condition.

On Thursday, we moved on to overhauling the wheel hubs and replacing the tires and tubes. We will continue that work, this coming Thursday. Hope you’ll join us!

Basic Bike Assessment Class

Join us on Monday night at 6:30 to gain an understanding of the different systems on your bicycle.  Make sure your bike is in good working order and safe to ride.  And you’ll come away with an idea of what you might like to update or fix up on your bike. Read more and sign up, here.

How about a Bike to Dinner?!

We never made it to our 3 Angels Bike to Dinner, because of rain. Shall we try again, this Wednesday? The sun sets at 6:37, so you will definitely need lights! If you don’t have any, come early to buy some from us. And if you want to ride one of our city bikes, they’ll be available to rent for $5, plus tax. Please remember that helmets are required, on all Revolutions sponsored rides!

Community Ride to VisionWalk

Foundation Fighting Blindness makes millions of dollars available each year to support research seeking a cure for retinal degenerative diseases such as macular degeneration. Revolutions member Marsha Walton is organizing a team to participate in FFB’s annual VisionWalk.  You can find more information here.

Join Marsha and other Team Members on
Saturday, October 10, VisionWalk Day, for a
