What is Overhaul Night?

Overhaul Night is for folks who have taken the Overhaul Class to practice their skills. Get your hands on some more bikes by helping to overhaul some of our donations.

We also welcome folks with previous bike wrenching skills. This is definitely an experienced night (not for beginners).

Under supervision, you will work on different types of brakes, bottom brackets, etc as you help us get bikes ready for folks to ride.

What is Demolition Night?

Join us for Demolition Night! This is a night to work through our donated bikes to find parts worth saving, and scrap headed for the scrap heap. Work on this night will also help us keep our stock of used parts sorted and available.

This is a great night for new members to participate in because we’re just breaking down bikes, so you don’t have to worry about breaking something!

What We Did Last Week

IMG_1077We had a great Bike to Dinner, on Wednesday. Eighteen folks joined us for a ride to Gus’s Downtown. We are awarding them a  Nice to Bicycles designation. And, though we were able to lock up to their fence, we are encouraging them to get a sturdy bike rack.

IMG_1085On Saturday, Livable Memphis rented our entire Rental Fleet, plus some. They were hosting the Board of IOBY, who were in town for a retreat. Most of the IOBY Board live in Brooklyn, with some in San Francisco, Cleveland, Washington DC and New Orleans. Even visiting from such exciting places, they were extremely impressed with Memphis. They rode a 9-mile loop from Revolutions, to visit several Livable Memphis projects, like the new mural under the Central Ave bridge just West of Cooper, and the pocket garden at Madison and Belvedere. When we arrived at the Overton Park Bike Gate, their were audible “oohs” and “ahs”!

Our new signs arrived! It’s now easier than ever to find us!!
