If you ate as much as I did, over the holidays, you might be ready for some bike riding! This weather is not super, but it is a good time to work on your bike. This month’s I Can Fix That classes are on adjusting rear derailleurs (the part that moves the chain onto the back gears). This week’s class is full. But there are still a few slots for next week. So, don’t delay. Sign up now!
Demolition Night — Thursday!
Have you felt afraid to come in to Revolutions because you thought you didn’t know enough to work on bikes, with us? Well, demolition night is the night for you.
Join us as we work through our donated bikes to find parts worth saving, and decide on scrap that should go to the scrap heap. Even when we scrap parts, it’s good for the environment (because they recycle the metal) and good for Revolutions (because we make a bit of money to put towards our programs). Work on this night will also help us keep our stock of used parts sorted and available.
This is a great night for new members to participate in because we’re just breaking down bikes, so you don’t have to worry about breaking something! We’ll have volunteers available to help you learn which tools to use for which jobs and to help you sort the parts you pull off of the bikes. Hope you’ll join us!!
Open Shop — Next Sunday!
January will have two offerings of Open Shop, where members can bring in their own bikes and work on minor repairs. Join us on Sunday, January 11 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
If you look at the calendar, you’ll see that we have a lot of “Work Nights” scheduled. Why so many? It’s the new year and Revolutions some of our space around! Join us for these work nights where we’ll be working on a variety of tasks. We might be moving bikes, building work benches, sorting parts and who knows what else! Help us get our space set so we can get ready to jump into new programs and classes, this Spring!
