Slow Ride, Open Shop and Christmas Bike Build!

Open Shop, Today

Join us, today, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., if your bike needs some repairs!

Christmas Bike Build Starts This Thursday, Oct. 2nd

Join us, each week through the beginning of December, as we build and overhaul kids’ bikes for our Christmas Bike Donation with the YMCA and Shelby Farms. We are building bikes for twenty-eight kids, so we need lots of help!!

This is a great chance to learn and practice some bike wrenching skills. We will have experienced folks in the Shop to guide and assist.

You must be a Revolutions member to participate, but you can join when you arrive at the Shop!

Plans SLOW Ride

To Market to Market: Join us Saturday, October 4 for a ride downtown. We’ll gather at 8:15 a.m. in front of Revolutions’ new Bike Gate (on the Cooper side of the building). You can grab coffee beforehand (starting at 8:00 a.m.), at the Cooper-Young Farmers’ Market.

At 8:15, we’ll ride together to the Downtown Farmers’ Market, where we’ll take time to shop, eat and uses the bathrooms! Then we’ll ride back to Revolutions.

This will be a twelve plus mile ride. Everyone is welcome, not just women. But please note, children should only ride their own bicycles if they can handle 12+ miles on the street. We won’t ride fast, but this is not a ride for little ones on their own bikes. Also, this is a ride-at-your-own risk ride. Please bring a bicycle that is in good working condition. And Revolutions now requires that all participants wear a helmet (because we want to be good examples for the children). Please plan to bring kids along, if you can tow them in your trailer, trail-a-bike, bike seat, etc.

We’ll plan to return by 1:00 p.m.

Maintenance Classes to begin, in October

1st and 3rd Mondays will be class night, this Fall. October’s topic is Bike Assessment. What is that squeak? Where should I begin, on fixes to my bike? Join us for this basic assessment class to find out. We’ll practice on Revolutions bikes. And we’ll have time to take a look at yours. So bring your own bike along, too.

Class begins at 6:30 and goes until 9:00. You must be a member, to attend, but you can join when you arrive!

PLEASE NOTE: 1st Monday is reserved for a Women’s Only class. Everyone is invited to attend on the 3rd Monday! See full calendar, here.
