Wolf River Day Recap

September 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Wolf River Day was hosted by the Wolf River Conservancy to help bring issues of the environment and sustainability to the forefront through its theme “It’s Cool to Go Green”. We were there to share information about Revolutions with hundreds of visitors. We also organized a bicycle decorating booth that allowed children to put stickers and streamers on their bikes as well as playing cards in their spokes. We then led the nosiest “motorcycle” gang of kids down the V&E Greenline on a bicycle parade.

Shelby County Mayor AC Wharton congratulated all participants that helped create the plan and officially released the plan that will help shape policies and programs that will help Shelby County grow into the future by remaining conscious of the environment. Anthony represented Revolutions throughout the planning process to ensure that bicycle/pedestrian concerns and issues were addressed and put into the final draft strategies. At the event Daniel Pieper and I allowed participants to help break down a bicycle.

Last Sunday Afternoon Ride Until September!

August 9, 2009 · 1 Comment

Join Revolutions Bike Shop and Friends on a slow to moderately paced bicycle ride to some of Memphis’s favorite cold dessert spots. Bring some money for dessert. The ride should be approximately 10-12 miles in length and last about 3 hours including eating time.

This week will be the last Sunday afternoon ride of the summer. Instead of going to a local ice cream shop, we will be riding downtown to sit on the river bluff and enjoy some store-bought ice cream on the grass. Please bring a couple dollars in cash to put towards the purchase of ice cream.

The Sunday afternoon ride will appear again after Labor Day with new themes and destinations.

Date: Sunday, August 9, 2009
Time: 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Location: Revolutions Community Bicycle Shop
Street: 1000 South Cooper St
